1st Night of 4-H Archery shooting

Let's catch you up, Karisa's been taking archery lessons now since late October, about 15 weeks of shooting. She chose archery as one of her 4-H projects this year. Tonight was her 'first' night of 4-H archery shooting. They wheeled in these huge targets for the kids to hit. We were so proud of Karisa's patience through the safety lecture and instruction on form, etc. Then it was her turn up at the line...she did AWESOME! All her arrows hit the target in a grouping close together and all right at the bullseye! She's so excited and really enjoying it! We turned into "soccer parents", clapping and yelling "GREAT SHOT BABE!" We forgot it was just practice at the Ranch, they weren't even keeping score. Ronnie and I have to learn to tone it down a bit. Anyway, Karisa - GREAT SHOOTING BABE!

Karisa's Birthday Bash

She's double digits now, 10, a whole decade! Can you believe it? After all the big birthday parties through the years, she decided to tone it down this year and only invited 10 kids (our checkbook hopes this is a new trend happening). We let her pick the theme this year and she chose her newest love - Archery! The kids had an hour long archery lesson, then headed back to our house for cake, ice cream and SILLY STRING FIGHT!!!! Then we took them all over to the hotel for a swimming party and sleepover. The boys got to stay and swim until 7:00pm then it was just the girls! Six 10 year old girls in the pool until 9pm then confined to adjoining rooms filled with snacks and yes, High School Musical DVDs! What fun that was! I was out before the pillow fight, thank goodness. Good times had by all! Check out the cake! I'm a little shaky with circles....

She's aiming for the mosquito's butt and yes, she hit it!

Silly string, what a beautiful invention! I paid $5.00 to have Doug sprayed!

Welcome!

Well, I've fought it long enough. The dreaded blog... We've decided to start blogging so that we can record all we do in our busy life. Maybe this is easier than trying to sum up the whole year in one Christmas letter to snail mail out to the enormous list of family members we have. So bear with us as we start to journal all our activities and exciting news! Welcome to our new blog! Please feel free to comment...we know you all will!
